History of International Charity Day
International Charity Day is celebrated every 5th September. In 2012, the United Nations General Assembly officially declared International Charity Day. International Charitable Day was started in 2011 with the support of the Hungarian Parliament and Government, an initiative of the Hungarian Civil Society. September 5 was celebrated as International Charity Day on Mother Teresa's birthday. Mother Teresa made an unprecedented contribution to the work of eradicating poverty from society, helping the needy and alleviating their hardships.
International Charity Day works to increase social responsibility, unity and public support for charitable causes among all of us. This day is a great opportunity to raise awareness about donations and to provide a platform for charitable events taking place globally.
