Nowadays wearing short clothes has become a fashion. The East Asian country of Cambodia is imposing penalties on women who wear too short clothes. The law includes a ban on men's shorts in addition to provocative clothing. The proposal has the support of many MPs and politicians. Conservative scholars and the government have been annoyed by the recent trend of trendy clothing for men and women. The government believes the ban on shorts is an attempt to preserve cultural traditions and social prestige. Live streaming is a violation of culture and traditions that can lead to harassment and violence against women.
But many are also opposing the law. Young people argue that they need to have the freedom to wear clothes that they feel comfortable and comfortable with. In addition to the law, there are other ways to prevent girls from wearing skirts or shorts that need to be adopted. Work can also be done by explaining cultural traditions and beliefs. An online protest campaign has also been launched for this. Some girls are even using the MyBody My Choice hash tag on social media. Independent thinkers believe that since social media is currently a powerful medium of expression, the government must also speak out.
There are also allegations that the Cambodian government is always drafting laws without public opinion or advice. It will be implemented next year if approved by government ministries and the National Assembly. Cambodia's Center for Human Rights also believes that if the law goes into effect, it will affect people at the bottom of society. In addition to shorts, the bill includes a ban on people with mental disorders from roaming and begging in public places, as well as permission from the administration to gather peacefully in public places.
