Why is World Rose Day celebrated?

World Rose Day is celebrated on September 22 every year to treat human beings with cancer and to halve their grief. It aims to inspire people who are fighting cancer to live and make their lives happier. The rose flower is considered a symbol of love, affection and care with the help of which you can give a good message.

How did World Rose Day begin?

The day commemorates 12-year-old Melinda Rose, who lives in Canada. Melinda was diagnosed with blood cancer in 1994. Doctors then said Melinda would no longer live more than 2 weeks. But Melinda did not give up and disproved the doctors' prediction. Melinda lived for 6 months but in September she said goodbye to the world. The way 12-year-old Melinda fought cancer for 6 months became an example of inspiration and strength for all cancer patients.

It is worth mentioning that on this day all cancer patients are given roses so that they can get strength to fight against diseases like cancer. Most people get scared just by hearing the name of cancer and they think they can't live long. World Rose Day is celebrated to inspire courage within such people.

Significance

Today cancer patients are encouraged to fight disease and live life by giving them roses. Cancer is not the end of life, but a beginning. With hope and emotion many people also succeed in fighting a serious illness like cancer and can start a new life again.
