Every year on December 10, International Human Rights Day is observed. The United Nations declared Human Rights Day on December 10, 1950, with the aim of drawing the attention of people around the world to human rights. It was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 1948, but the day was officially announced in 1950. In 1950, the Assembly invited all countries to observe International Human Rights Day. The Assembly then passed a resolution of 423 instructing all countries and concerned organizations to observe the day.
Why is Human Rights Day celebrated?
Human Rights Day is celebrated to make people aware of their rights. Human rights also include the right to health, economic, social, and education. Human rights are fundamental natural rights that cannot deprive or torture human beings on the basis of race, nationality, religion, gender, etc.
Human rights in India
The Human Rights Act of India came into force on September 28, 1993. The government then set up the National Human Rights Commission on 12 October 1993. The Human Rights Commission also works in the political, economic, social and cultural spheres. Such as labor, HIV AIDS, health, child marriage, women's rights. The job of the Human Rights Commission is to make as many people as possible aware.
