Rite of Shalabhasana
To do Shalabhasana, lie down on the ground with a chessboard on your stomach. Then keep both legs straight and arms straight at the waist. Keep the palm facing upwards. Now take a deep breath and lift your right leg up to the wall. Be careful not to bend your knees during this and keep breathing. Now keep the right foot down. Do the same process with your left foot. Keep the hand still while performing this procedure. Now lift both your legs upwards while breathing. Do not bend the knees. Keep the arms straight at the waist and keep breathing. Now lift your head upwards. Bring your feet down and come to rest. Practice this asana for two to four minutes.
The benefit of doing Shalabhasana
Doing Shalabhasana regularly makes the body flexible. This increases your ability to work in every situation. It also strengthens the lumbar muscles and relieves back pain. This action of yoga relaxes the veins of the neck, shoulders and arms.
Also improves digestion
Doing Shalabhasana also improves digestion and reduces the accumulated fat around the abdomen. At the same time it also corrects the posture of the body.

So this asana is beneficial for everyone but if you are hernia, peptic ulcer, heart disease or pregnant then avoid doing this asana. If you want to do this asana only do it under the supervision of a yoga expert.
