As India is an agricultural country, good monsoon is very important. There are boreholes, wells and canals for irrigation but without monsoon rains the farm bed is not crossed. There are many beliefs and rituals in rural society for good rains. People use a centuries-old method for rainwater harvesting. Religious rituals and fasting are also observed, but the tradition of marrying frogs and frogs for rain is found in rural areas of Madhya Pradesh and Assam.
Apart from Assam, it is believed that Indra Raja is happy with the frog-frog marriage in Tripura. It is believed that Indra Dev himself performed this ritual when people requested him to give rain. In Assamese it is called Bekhuli Byah. Bekhuli means frog and byah means marriage. Male sick frogs mate during the rainy season. The rain arrives only after the frog is pleased and requests rain from Indra Raja. In this one marriage, frogs and toads are traditionally bathed.
At the time of the wedding ceremony, a red cloth is draped over the frog, which is considered as a symbol of her marriage. Necklaces are also worn around the necks of sick frogs. The wedding ceremony of a frog frog by a Brahmin and the entire program lasts for 2 to 3 hours. When these nine married couples are released into the water after marriage, women sing Mars songs. People greet each other with joy. People enjoy a dinner party, folk music and dancing at night.
