There should be enough light wherever you are using these devices so as not to damage the eye.
You can use a small table lamp while working on the computer. Doing so reduces the brightness of the monitor. You can also put a screen guard on the laptop screen.
Use of any type of digital device should be stopped half an hour before going to sleep. Not only this, you should also keep your smartphone away from the bed. In addition, eye checkup should be done once a year.
