AC, run anything cooler, keep windows slightly open, government guideline on corona

Ahmedabad. Sunday 26 April 2020

In the Corona epidemic and rising heat, many worries, rumors and incomplete information are bothering people. In such a situation, the Government of India has issued guidelines for awareness. It is said that you run a fan or AC-cooler, but keep the room window slightly open.

This will reduce the chances of being infected by the air. For offices, hospitals and other large spaces, make arrangements for ventilation and fresh air.

- Keep windows slightly open when running AC

- Manage room ventilation

- Keep the window open enough to get 50% outside air when operating the cooler

- Keep windows slightly open when using the fan

- The exhaust fan should be turned on to accelerate the hot air

- Arrange in a way to get more outside air in commercial and industrial complexes

- First repair the AC which has been shut down for several days due to lockdown and clean the pipes

This guide has been prepared with the help of Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air Conditioning Engineers of India (iShare). Built in 1981 and present in 41 cities, the society has 29,000 engineers associated with it. Eicher, citing a study in 100 cities in China, claimed that higher temperatures could reduce airborne transitions. The infection is not spread by air, so it is important to expel the inside air as the outside air enters.

How much effect of temperature

Most infections: According to iShare, the transition from 7-8 સે C to air is the highest. Corona virus can live for up to 14 days at 4 C.

Moderate infection: At 20-24 degrees the speed of infection seems to slow down. At 30 degrees it is further reduced. Survive one day at 37 degrees.

Lowest: If the virus is 56 degrees Hg. If so, the virus can survive for up to 30 minutes. As the heat increases, the rate of infection will also decrease sharply.

A guide to three things

AC: Keep the temperature 24 to 30 degrees

Keep the room temperature at 24 to 30 degrees to reduce humidity. If it feels hot then also run the fan, so that the cooling spreads in the room. Open the window slightly so that the natural air flow continues.

Cooler: Take care of regular cleaning

The cooler should get fresh air from outside, drain the remaining water, keep the room window slightly open so that the moisture created by the cooler can escape.

Fan: Also run the exhaust fan

When operating the fan, keep the window open and also run the exhaust fan, so that ventilation remains.
