Life of Swami Vivekananda:
- In the year 1863, a brilliant child Narendra Nath Dutt was born in a family in Kolkata, India. This child went on to become the flag bearer of Indian culture and came to be known as Swani Vivekananda.
- In the year 1893, Swami Vivekananda addressed the World Parliament of Religions held in Chicago, USA. In the meantime, he introduced Indian Vedanta to the Western world in his brief but effective speech. He made people aware of Indian culture and Sanatan way of life. This moment is known as 'East Meat West'.
- In the year 1897, after Swami Vivekananda returned from the Dharma Parliament, he established the Ramakrishna Mission for social services in the name of his guru Sant Sri Ramakrishna Paramahansa. His ideal karma is based on yoga and the teachings of Guru Sri Ramakrishna Paramahansa.
- On February 04, 1902, Swami Vivekananda went to his room and sat down to meditate. In this state of meditation, they departed from this world to the hereafter.
- In the year 1984, the Government of India declared Swami Vivekananda's birthday i.e. 12th January as National Youth Day to honor its great spiritual and philosophical leader and to inspire the youth of the country with his ideas.
Yoga revived Vedanta culture:
National Youth Day is celebrated every year in the country to honor the ideals and ideas of Swami Vivekananda. Swami Vivekananda spoke about the importance of youth in the process of nation building. What Vivekananda achieved abroad has played an important role in reviving the spiritual image of India and the yoga Vedanta culture.

His address to the World Parliament of Religions in Chicago in 1893 began with "Sisters and Brothers of America", earning him a worldwide recognition as a supernatural and brilliant orator as well as a philosopher. The teachings he gave and the ideals he displayed are still immortal today. Swami Vivekananda always focused on the potential of the youth. They wanted to inspire the younger generation so that they could face the British and achieve independence.
The only weapon of education and peace:
Swami Vivekananda's thoughts have the potential to change everyone's life. Education and peace were Vivekananda's weapons to conquer the world. They wanted the youth to get out of their comfortable lifestyle and achieve something they wanted. Vivekananda established his every thought through intellect and logic. Vivekananda had an understanding of philosophy, religion, literature, Vedas, Puranas, Upanishads. Vivekananda said that concentration is required for reading and meditation is required for concentration. Only through meditation can we achieve concentration by controlling our senses.
Each word has a subject in itself:
Wherever he lectured in the world, his teachings became a source of inspiration. Every word spoken by him was like a symbol of a deeper subject. Swami Vivekananda’s aspiration was to inspire the youth to the extent that they would start voicing the changes that they wanted to bring about and fulfill these desires. National Youth Day is celebrated across the country to honor their ideas and inspire youth with their ideas. He said that unless you believe in yourself, you cannot believe in God.
