Learn about the easy way to clean pottery ...

New delhi date. 20 January 2021, Wednesday

There are many types of cooking utensils available in the market. Out of these, the currency of pottery is being seen more and more nowadays. It is worth mentioning that the practice of cooking in earthenware is not new. Even today in some village houses women cook in earthenware. In addition, some special dishes are made in earthenware only to make it taste a little more special. These dishes are eco friendly and the food cooked in them is very beneficial for health. In the market these days you will find designer pottery in many good and big brands, in which you can cook. This mess comes a little expensive.

Earthenware is specially coated so that it can be used more than once. That's why if you are cooking in earthenware, you have to take care of it and the method of cleaning it should also be suitable. Especially you can't clean earthenware like steel utensils. The method of cleaning it is different. Know what is the proper way to wash pottery?

Method of cleaning pottery

Use hot water

You cannot use dishwashing soap and detergent to clean earthenware. If you do this the soap will penetrate into the pores of the clay pot then this pot will not be fit for use. But it is very important to wash it after cooking in a clay pot. That's why you fill less than half the amount of water in a clay pot and heat it on gas. Be careful not to boil water.

The water should be hot enough to be touched by hand. When the water is hot, clean the earthenware using a soft dishwashing scrub. Your earthenware can get scratched if you use a hard scrub. After cleaning the earthenware with a scrub, wash it with clean water and let it dry in the sun again.

Use lemon

If you are making a spicy dish in a clay pot then the aroma of spice will be coming from the clay pot. This scent does not go away easily. For this you have to fill a clay pot with water and add both lemon juice and peel and heat the water till it boils lightly. You can then clean the earthenware with a soft scrub. This will make the aroma of spices disappear from your earthenware.

Clean with baking soda and salt

If you cook with an earthenware vessel on the gas, it will definitely turn black. Pottery can also have spice stains that can make it look bad. If you want to remove burns and spice stains from earthenware, you should clean them with baking soda and salt.

For this, fill a clay pot with water and add a teaspoon of baking soda. Then apply salt to the scrub and rub it on the affected area. Be sure to rub it lightly with your hands. It is possible that the stain will not go away completely at once. But if you clean the earthenware immediately after cooking regularly, you will get rid of this stain.
