Ahmedabad. Tuesday, February 22, 2022 Labradors and Pomeranians are the favorite pets of Indians. However, love for birds and cats is also on the rise. According to a recent survey, Pet Dogs was the most searched among pets and found 66 per cent demand on the platform. It was followed by birds at 18 per cent and cats at 9 per cent. The demand for rabbits was also 3.5 per cent. Demand for hamsters is also on the rise in the country, a sign of a new trend among pet lovers. Demand for pets in India has grown at an annual rate of 13%, and demand in Tier-2 cities is slightly higher than in Tier-1 cities. Demand for pet dogs was 50 percent higher in Tier-2 cities compared to Tier-1 cities, while demand for cats was 41 percent higher. However, demand for birds, rabbits and hamsters was similar.
